The 2-day paddle program will take place near Sidney, BC. Saturday morning begins with on land navigation and weather preparation before taking to the waters of Canoe Cove. Sunday continues with skills development, route planning and executing a trip plan. You will stay at home or in nearby accommodations (at your own expense).
Intro to Coastal Touring is for Stand Up Paddleboarders who are interested in exploring their coastlines for day tours and multi-day overnight trips. You will be introduced to paddling and navigating in a coastal environment with an emphasis on knowledge, navigation and safety skills.
The scenic waters of the Southern Gulf Islands near Sidney, BC are our backdrop for learning and exploring that will have you confidently and safely setting off on your own paddling adventures.
You can opt to receive the Paddle Canada Coastal Touring Level 1 Skills certification upon completion.

- This is not an overnight trip.
- For this course, you will need to bring all paddling equipment and personal clothing.

This is an Intermediate/Advanced level course.
Advanced flatwater SUP certification or equivalent experience, skills and knowledge as assessed by the instructor. Paddlers need time and practice to sufficiently develop the skills learned in the prerequisite course before registering for this course. Please contact us if you are unsure if you meet the prerequisites.
Must feel comfortable Stand Up Paddling at an easy pace for 3 to 4 hours per day with a fully loaded board.
Must be comfortable in the water.
No previous camping experience is necessary but you will have to provide your own camping gear if taking the overnight course.
Age restrictions 18+ (may consider mature 16+ who are strong paddlers)
